Put words in double quotes to match phrase

Acquire™ is a trademark of Ambrit Ltd

Acquire must be in Config mode to perform these steps.

Traditionally, flowcomputer reports have been limited to simple, plain looking documents using just a single fixed width font. Furthermore, as they are generated by the flowcomputer, they cannot include information from other parts of the system.

Acquire’s styled reports, on the other hand, use an integrated word processor to enable custom styling and can contain data from any point in the entire system, making it easy to build a report with data taken from multiple flowcomputers.

1. Select ‘Reports’ from the ‘Acquire’ menu

The Reports list will be displayed:

A blank styled report will be created:

5. Enter a name for the report

6. Create the report

The report can be customized in the following ways:

Text Formatting
The formatting pallet is used to format and style text. It contains all the standard features normally found in a word processor, allowing font, font size, color, style, spacing and alignment to be controlled on a character-by-character basis:

Style changes apply to the currently selected text.

Fields
The field pallet allows any field from any flow computer to be added to the report:

To select a field:

  1. Select the flow computer
  2. Search for the field name or enter the Modbus address
  3. Select the field
  4. Enter the required number of decimal places
  5. Select whether the units should be displayed alongside the field
  6. Click the ‘Insert’ button or drag the field into the report

Additional Fields
The ‘Miscellaneous’ tab on the Field Pallet allows the station details, report date and time, and page numbers to be added into the report.

Graphics
To insert a graphic, select ‘Insert Picture…’ from the ‘Report’ menu. This will open a dialog that will allow the image file to be selected. By default Acquire supports .jpg files natively.

Warning: Acquire will keep a copy of every PDF generated so try to keep the image size to a minimum to stop the database becoming unnecessarily large.

Tabs
Tabs can be inserted into the report by clicking on the ruler. Double clicking on a tab allows the tab leaders and alignment to be customised.

An example report is shown above.

Acquire tries to minimise the amount of space required by each field to improve the formatting. The fields are shown using the format {flow computer no : Modbus address}. To view the full field names select ‘Show Field Names’ from the ‘Report’ menu.

7. Set the report’s schedule

The report can be configured to be generated automatically on a schedule or generated manually. The report can also be printed, archived and emailed whenever it is generated.

Delay (secs) This is the amount of time that Acquire will wait after the scheduled period before generating the report.
Period Generate the report hourly, 2 hourly, 12 hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. Styled prove reports are generated at the end of a prove. Request reports are only generated manually.
Base Time Set the base time of the report. The base time is only available for 2 hourly, 12 hourly, daily, weekly and monthly reports.
Print If the ‘Print’ checkbox is selected then a dropdown menu will appear showing all available printers on the network, click to select the printer. The report will be printed at the end of the report’s period. The number of copies of the report can also be selected.
Archive If the ‘Archive’ checkbox is selected then the report will be saved to disk as a text file at the end of the report’s period.
Email If the ‘Email’ checkbox is selected then the report will be emailed to a specified email address at the end of the report’s period. The report format can be specified as either text, PDF or HTML.
Note: Ensure that the sender’s email address has been set up as a valid address otherwise the report will be rejected by the recipient’s mail server.
