Acquire must be in Config mode to perform these steps.
The Button Properties window will be displayed.
There are three different type of button available:
Field Modifier | This is button will modify a selected field when clicked. |
Navigation Button | This button will jump to another P&ID or screen when clicked. |
Panel Button | This button will display a sidebar when clicked. |
Field Modifier Buttons
Button Title | The Button Title text is displayed on the button. Ensure the button is large enough to fit the required text. |
Button Type | This should be set to “Field Modifier”. |
Modified Field | This is the field that should be modified when the button is clicked. Click the ‘Select’ button to select the field. |
Value | This is the value to write to the Modified Field when the button is clicked. |
Are You Sure Text | This is the message that is presented to the user when the button is clicked. It should be in the format “Are you sure you want to click this button?” |
Navigation Buttons
Button Title | The Button Title text is displayed on the button. Ensure the button is large enough to fit the required text. |
Button Type | This should be set to “Navigation Button”. |
Sub Type | The Subtype popup menu determines the type of page that the button should navigate to: either “Station”, “Subscreen” or “P&ID”. |
Station | This is the station to navigate to. |
Subscreen | This will list all the available screens on the station. This option is only available for buttons of subtype “Subscreen”. |
P&ID | This will list all the available P&IDs on the station. This option is only available for buttons of subtype “P&ID”. |
Panel Buttons
Button Title | The Button Title text is displayed on the button. Ensure the button is large enough to fit the required text. |
Button Type | This should be set to “Panel Button”. |
Stream | This is the stream in the flow computer that the button should be linked to. |
Once the Panel Button has been setup, follow these instructions to add fields to the sidebar.
The button will be added to the P&ID:
Note: Because Config Mode requires items to be selected and dragged to new locations, it is not possible to click buttons directly. To simulate clicking a button in Config Mode, either right click on the button and select “Activate Button” or exit Config Mode.
