Acquire must be in Admin mode to perform these steps.
Acquire takes regular samples of data from the flowcomputers so that charts can be drawn.
It is important to manage the number of data points and collection frequency carefully to avoid the database becoming too large and affecting performance. For example, if a data point is collected every 15 seconds it will produce 4 * 60 * 24 = 5760 points per day. Collecting 100 points at this rate will generate 576,000 points in a day and over a million points in two days.
Note: For maximum performance limit the number of data points to 2 million points.
The Charts Preferences screen allows chart settings to be configured.
The following settings are available:
|Enable Chart Data Collection||Untick this checkbox to stop Acquire collecting chart data.|
|Keep Chart Data||The length of time that chart data is kept has a big effect on the number of data points collected. The default value is 7 days. Older data will automatically be removed from the database.|
|Sample Period||The sample period defines how frequently data is collected from the flowcomputer. It is not recommended that the sample period is set to less than 15 seconds.Note: If too many data points are being collected this can affect the Modbus data response rates, especially if the sample period is too quick for the flow computer.|
|Chart Data Cache Size||The size of the chart data records can affect the performance of Acquire. To ensure that the database runs at maximum performance, Acquire keeps the most recent chart data in a cache. The maximum size of the cache will depend on the amount of memory installed on the server.|
