Acquire™ is a trademark of Ambrit Ltd

This is an optional feature and will only be available if it has been licensed in the key file.

Acquire must be in Config mode to perform these steps.

Acquire can automatically send out signals to the sampler while a batch is being transferred.

In Calculated Sample Mode, Acquire will instruct the sampler to take samples at regular volume intervals throughout the course of a batch. For example, with a can size of 10 litres and a grab size of 1cc, if a ship is being loaded with  850,000 barrels then a grab will be made every 85 barrels.

In Periodical Sample Mode, Acquire will instruct the sampler to take samples at regular time intervals throughout the course of a batch.

In both modes sampler requests are made directly with the flow computer or PLC.

Note: If stream batching has been enabled, then each stream can have a different sampler assigned to it.

Warning: Acquire assumes an empty sample can when deciding how many grabs to make.

1. Open the Batch Settings screen

Follow these instructions to open the Batch Settings screen.

2. Click ‘Sampler’ in the left column

Note: Sampler is only available if the station is set to be active batching.

Sample Can Size This is the size of the sampler can. The units must match the grab size units.
Grab Size This is the size of a grab. The units must match the sample can size units.Number of Grabs = Sample Can Size / Grab Size
