Acquire requires a static IP address.
1. Open the ‘Control Panel’ folder in Windows 7 (other versions of Windows are similar)
2. Click ‘Network and Internet’
The Network and Internet control panel is displayed:
3. Click ‘Network and Sharing Center’
The Network and Sharing Center window is displayed:
4. Click ‘Change adapter settings’ in the sidebar
Available network connections will be displayed:
5. Right click on the ‘Local Area Network Connection’ icon and choose ‘Properties’ from the menu
The Local Area Connection Properties screen is displayed:
6. Highlight ‘Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)’
7. Click the ‘Properties’ button
The IP Properties screen is displayed:
8. Click the ‘Use the following IP address’ radio button
9. Enter the IP address of the server
10. Enter the ‘Subnet mask’. This is normally “255.255.255.0″
11. Click the ‘Use the following DNS server address’ radio button
12. Enter the IP address of the DNS server
Contact your system administrator for these settings.
13. Click the ‘OK’ button to close the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window
14. Click the ‘OK’ button to close the Local Area Connection Properties window
