Synchronization of Redundant Servers

This is an optional feature and will only be available if it has been licensed in the key file.

The following data types will be replicated between Acquire servers:

  • Reports
  • Batch Data from RTU
  • Prove Data
  • Audit Trail
  • Custom Field Values
  • User Enterable Batch Data
  • Alarms

Certain events, such as concurrent editing or reverting from a backup, can cause data to become inconsistent between servers. If this occurs the inconsistent data can be edited manually to make the servers consistent again.

Modifications to the configuration and settings can only be made on the master server.

Time Synchronization

Redundancy in Acquire assumes that the wall clock time on each server is kept in sync. If the server times are not in sync the integrity of the data may be affected. Keeping the server times in sync is the responsibility of the customer. This affects all data types.

See the ‘Time Synchronization’ section for more information about viewing or modifying the time synchronization settings.
