N.B. This feature is only available on the SCADA server or in standalone Profile.
The Equipment Types screen defines which equipment types are active in Profile and helps to standardise their settings in Profile and the flow computers.
The equipment types screen is preloaded with a default equipment list but users can add new equipment types and deactivate unused equipment types to modify the selection available when adding new equipment.
1. Click the cog icon in the Location Bar and select ‘Settings’ on the menu

2. Click ‘Equipment Types’ in the left hand column 1
The Equipment Types list is displayed:
3. Use the menu to filter the list by equipment type 2
4. Tick/untick the ‘Active’ checkbox to activate/deactivate an equipment type 3
Deactivating an equipment type will remove it throughout Profile. This can help to keep the lists focused to the types of equipment actually used.
5. Click the ‘Add’ button to add a new equipment type 4
The Equipment Type Details popup is displayed:
Enter the details for the new equipment type. N.B. The ‘Short Name’ is only used for meters and should be 8 characters.
Click the ‘OK’ button to proceed. N.B. The new equipment type will not be saved until the ‘Save’ or ‘Apply’ button has been clicked on the main Equipment Types screen.
6. To edit an equipment type, select its row in the list and click the ‘Edit’ button 5
Edit the equipment details as required. Click the ‘OK’ button to proceed. N.B. The new equipment type will not be saved until the ‘Save’ or ‘Apply’ buttons have been clicked on the main Equipment Types screen.
7. To delete an equipment type, select its row in the list and click the ‘Delete’ button 6
8. Click the ‘Save’ button to save the changes and exit the Settings section 7
N.B. Click the ‘Apply’ button to save the changes and remain in the Equipment Types section. 8
