N.B. This must be performed on the server.
1. Edit the field
See the Adding a Field to a Configuration section for more details.
2. Select an existing unit or “Custom” from the ‘Units’ popup menu
If it is an existing unit, skip to stage 5.
If it is a custom unit then a dialog box will be shown and will allow you to create your own unit type:
3. Enter the details as follows:
| Unit Type Name | The unit type name is the name of the units, e.g. “Temperature”. Unit Types can be shared across different fields in the configuration. |
| Units | The units are the actual units that are associated with the Unit Type. e.g.°F. Tip: To insert the degree symbol on Windows, press and hold ALT while typing 0176 on the numeric keypad. |
4. Click the ‘OK’ button
The new unit type is added into the ‘Units’ popup menu.
The new unit will also be added to the list of units available for the configuration and can be viewed in the Units screen.
